Legal Concerns
Several things. I'm leaving school this semester. I'll
go into that later (as in, not in this blog.) However, with
this free time (though getting a job will remove much of that "free
time,") I plan to actually make a go of writing. Yes, I said
it (well typed it) out loud. Err...on the internet. Ok,
well whatever, admitting it is what I'm doing, which makes it all
that much more "final" in my mind.
So I grabbed up a big old box of my writings from my parent's
house, and am planning to actually type them up, edit them, and
submit them to magazines for publication. A ballsy move if I
do say so myself. But in doing so, I realized I need better
criteria for what I put up onto this here website. Some
stories have little to no relevance to the whole world of Caerith,
so people can read them on my website and I don't mind. But,
as my father pointed out, if people can get some stories here for
nothing, then later if I tried to sell them, I might have some
troubles. So anything that I think is of a particular quality,
I'm not likely to post here. Unless it gets rejected 900
trillion times (as opposed to the 1.1 trillion times a story
normally gets rejected,) then I'll publish it myself here on the
website and everyone can see why it got rejected so much.
Anyway, because I need to think about what goes up here more, I'm
not likely to put up anything "story wise" for a while, and even
took down a story because it's actually complete and pretty darn
good. Anyway, I've got things to be doing, but felt it
important to address the possible stagnation of what appears on this
site. Sure, as I type up any poems or whatever those will
still be here (I don't expect to ever make any money on poems, so
I'm not as worried about people potentially not wanting to pay for
them later on.) And things like
The Legend of Kagham will still show
up (again, as I don't expect to ever try to publish that or sell it
for money) but most Caerith related material will be on hold for
now.
